About

Therapy Style

  • I am curious, friendly, and warm.

  • I ask thoughtful questions to help you better understand your emotions, thoughts, relationships, and more.

  • I will introduce practical strategies to help you cope better each day.

  • I provide a safe space to validate your life experiences.

  • I recognize that you are the expert on your life.

  • I draw on my own experience as a modern parent of young children.

  • I affirm all backgrounds, including different races, ethnic heritage, religion, income, sexual orientation, family composition, etc.

  • I avoid "advice," but I may offer suggestions, with your permission.

  • I recommend we collaborate to develop “homework” for awareness or change between sessions.

Experience
  • I am Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) and have specialized in this field for about 7 years.

  • I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have been practicing social work since 2011.

  • I am a mother to two young children. It is my most important role, and also my most challenging. It has big joys, but I am also well aware that pregnancy, birth, recovery, newborns, toddlers (and more) are not all sunshine and rainbows.

  • I have collaborated with multidisciplinary providers, including OBGYN doctors, Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists, perinatal psychiatrists, psychologists, primary care doctors, midwives, doulas, and other helping professionals. I welcome the opportunity to work with a team to support you.

  • I serve as Board Chair for the Indiana Chapter of Postpartum Support International.
